History
Valls is a very ancient town with a well-kept historic centre, worth visiting.
It was given its rank of city or town by King Charles in 1700.
The town of Valls is set deep in a natural bypass zone. This accounts for its having being inhabited by human beings ever since Prehistory, as shown by the finds made in the Picamoixons site, and, from later dates, evidence found at the Iberian site of Vilar, as well as the Ibero-Roman oven found in Fonscaldes.
