Cultural offer
Valls has various cultural and gastronomic activities to offer. - Grand Calçotada Fair: It is held during the third weekend of January. The town is swarmed by thousands of people who come to enjoy the food and the party.
- Jewish quarter: Near the church of Sant Joan is the old Jewish quarter.
- Church of Sant Joan: Romanic-style, very interesting to visit for myriad reasons (14 chapels distributed along its two lateral wings, the altarpiece,...).
"The Calçot, the porrón, and the castellers are three of our things that have always fascinated me, they all issue from the earth and make us look up to the sky", so says Bigas Luna in the prologue to the book "La cocina del calçot" ("Calçot cuisine").
